{"id":10881,"date":"2024-06-12T09:36:40","date_gmt":"2024-06-12T08:36:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bioteckacademy.com\/?p=10881"},"modified":"2024-06-12T09:36:40","modified_gmt":"2024-06-12T08:36:40","slug":"acetabular-reconstruction-flexible-bone-graft-equine-origin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bioteckacademy.com\/en\/acetabular-reconstruction-flexible-bone-graft-equine-origin\/","title":{"rendered":"Acetabular reconstruction using a flexible bone graft of equine origin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we show you <strong>a case report of a patient undergoing revision hip replacement who had a Paprowsky type III acetabular defect and that was published in the June issue of the Italian journal &#8220;Tabloid of Orthopaedics.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>A flexible bone graft of equine origin<\/strong> was used to fill the major bone defect.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n<strong>The bone graft used is the acetabular mat (Osteoplant<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Acetabular Mat &#8211; OSP-070), which is produced by the Zymo-Teck<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> enzymatic process to preserve collagen in its native form.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The acetabular mat undergoes an additional process of partial demineralization that makes it flexible after hydration in saline or imbibed with the patient&#8217;s blood.
