GRAFTING MATERIALS FOR MAJOR SINUS LIFT

The combined use of an equine enzymatically deantigenated bone graft and PRP in the maxillary sinus surgery

The study presents a comparison between two clinical cases using different grafting materials. Equine bone mixed with PRP was fully integrated into the maxillary sinus and within 6 months it reached a D4 bone density, which allowed implant placement into the grafted bone even if the original sinus floor was about 1mm. Porous titanium mixed with PRP revealed less bone formation in 6 months and implant placement failed into comparable anatomic conditions.
