A review on the available Tissue-based products to restore organ defects

In medical science, six approaches are typically used to treat a disease or defect at organ scale. They are transplantation, autografting, implantation of a permanent prosthesis, use of stem cells, in vitro synthesis of organs, and “induced regeneration” (Yannas et al., 1989). Tissue-based products form a major component for the surgical treatment of disease or defect at organ scale either by replacement or by induced regeneration.
