RIDGE PRESERVATION BY BONE SUBSTITUTE AND PERICARDIUM MEMBRANE OF EQUINE ORIGIN

Use of granules in syringe and pericardium membrane in an upper premolar ridge preservation surgery.

The patient, in good general health, presented for observation complaining of pain in the right upper first premolar. Clinical and radiographic evaluation suggested the presence of a fracture of element 1.5, later confirmed after lifting of the exploratory flap. After extraction of the compromised element, the socket was filled with cortical-cancellous granules of equine origin extruded directly from the syringe. During the subsequent follow-up, 6 months later, it was possible to appreciate that a good volume of hard and soft tissue was obtained, which was also confirmed by CBCT radiological investigation.
