TREATMENT OF RT2-TYPE GINGIVAL RECESSION WITH THREE-DIMENSIONAL COLLAGEN MATRIX OF EQUINE ORIGIN

Use of a three-dimensional collagen matrix in gingival recessions with 6-year follow-up.

The clinical case presented shows the resolution of an RT2-type gingival recession at element 3.1. The treatment involved the Latero-Coronal Sliding Flap technique using the three-dimensional XC® Collagen Matrix, Xenomatrix® BCG-XC50. After release of the pedicled flap through deep and superficial incisions, the equine-derived collagen matrix was appropriately shaped to the patient’s exact anatomy, placed to cover the exposed portion of the root, and stabilized with suture threads. The latter was covered by pulling the pedicled flap, placing it passively over the exposed root and sutured.
