Different biomaterials for alveolar preservation: from biology to clinical practice.
Prof. Danilo Di Stefano’s talk focused on the characteristics of biomaterials on the market today and how they can also emerge at the clinical outcome level.
After an introduction on the main characteristics of biomaterials, Prof. Di Stefano illustrates the most recent in vitro studies, which show differences in the ability of biomaterials to interact with cells involved in bone regeneration. In the second part of the talk, however, Prof Di Stefano shows how the differences observed at the cellular level also have an impact at the clinical level: clinical and histological data show that biomaterials “are not all the same.”
