GBR WITH HETEROLOGOUS BONE AND NON-RESORBABLE MEMBRANE

The combined use of a bone block of equine origin and of a non-resorbable membrane to restore a vertical atrophy

In case of bone resorption, to address aesthetic needs and to restore mastication functionality, it is appropriate to act to restore the alveolar process. In this case report, GBR is used in conjunction with a heterologous bone block as surgical technique.
The bone block is of equine origin and it has the collagen natively preserved thanks to the enzymatic deantigenation treatment. In this case, the bone block is covered by a non-resorbable membrane to restore vertical atrophy.
The results obtained show the osteo-regenerative properties of the heterologous material. The future prospect of graft customization in conjunction with a slow-resorption membrane might certainly simplify an operator-dependent surgical technique.
