Equine cancellous bone wedges may be the help needed in postponing knee replacement surgery.

The sheet describes a conservative surgical operation on a patient suffering from knee osteoarthritis, with the use of an Osteoplant wedge for tibial osteotomy (OSP-010P, Bioteck, Italy). The case is typical of how it is possible to adopt a combined conservative approach to ameliorate the function of the knee and reduce pain, even if the knee osteoarthritis is advanced, and, in some cases, postpone the use of prostheses.
