APPOSITION SURGERY USING EQUINE-DERIVED BLOCK GRAFTS

Combined use of bone grafts, bone marrow concentrate and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the recovery of ridge thickness.

The sheet summarizes a study, in which 24 patients with edentulous maxilla and with an anterior alveolar crestal bone thickness of 2-3 mm underwent a bone reconstruction surgery, using a cancellous bone graft of equine derivation (Bioteck), made biocompatible through an enzymatic removal of antigens. The treatment with block grafts was combined with the use of bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC – Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate), which allows to integrate the graft with a significant amount of mesenchymal cells and growth factors that could favor the events regenerative, and with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which can increase the synthesis of collagen.
