The sheet presents the case of a 22-year-old patient suffering from congenital achondroplasia. Because of the developmental defect, the patient’s facial profile was concave and affected by severe hypoplasia of the middle third of the face. The patient was treated with a Le Fort III type osteotomy and with the interposition of two Osteoplant equine cancellous bone blocks.
The CT scan 28 months after the procedure showed that the equine blocks were still in the correct position, with signs of possible osteointegration with the patient’s bone tissue, and that they still contributed perfectly to the stabilization of the advanced bone segment.
