RESOLUTION OF A HORIZONTAL ATROPHY WITH A FLEX CORTICAL SHEET ASSOCIATED WITH A MIXTURE OF OSTEOPROMOTIONAL GEL AND COLLAGEN-PRESERVED EQUINE-DERIVED GRANULES

Use of Flex Cortical Sheet in horizontal GBR and delayed implant rehabilitation.

The article presents a clinical case of a 46-year-old woman who required implant rehabilitation at the level of element 36. Preoperative CBCT showed advanced buccal cortical bone resorption, with sufficient bone in the vertical direction but insufficient in the horizontal direction. This necessitated horizontal GBR and delayed implant placement on the first molar of the posterior lower sector. Regenerative surgery was performed with heterologous collagen-preserved graft of equine origin mixed with an osteopromotional gel, covered and protected by a 0.5-mm-thick flexible cortical bone sheet.
