A clinical case is presented in which an equine bone graft in granular form and a cortical membrane, also obtained from tissue of equine origin, were used to perform guided bone regeneration in an area of high aesthetic value.

The rehabilitation of a patient by means of an implant prosthesis is only possible if, at the sites where the implants are to be placed, according to the principles of prosthetically guided surgery, there is sufficient bone tissue of sufficient quality and volume. However, at the site chosen for implant placement, a bone defect may be present, either congenital or due to different causes, including trauma, previous surgery, or atrophic processes resulting from loss of dental elements. Under these conditions, implant placement may be difficult or even impossible and bone regeneration surgery must be performed in order to operate according to the chosen rehabilitation plan.
