Treatment of the patellofemoral syndrome caused by torsional defects resulting from malalignment of the extensor apparatus.

The sheet summarizes the clinical results concerning 118 patients affected by patellofemoral syndrome, who underwent derotation of the tibial tuberosity using the dihedron wedge (Osteoplant, Bioteck). The results obtained in this study with the Crosby and Insall questionnaire showed that 28 patients (24%) obtained an excellent score, 57 (48%) good, 25 (21%) fair and only 8 (7%) poor. The average score according to Lysholm was 81 points. These first results confirm the medium term clinical efficacy (6 years) of using the Bioteck dihedron wedge in tibial derotation procedures.
