The paper describes a 45-years-old woman who lost the upper right lateral incisor, and was previously rehabilitated with a three-unit bridge with one element in extension. The patient is not satisfied with the aesthetic result, neither for the evident distance between prosthesis and soft tissues nor for the unnatural appearance of the prosthesis. Use of a cortical membrane, combined with grafting osteoconductive biomaterial, has made it possible to obtain horizontal bone augmentation of a partially atrophic maxillary bone crest. This result has led to implant success, from the functional and aesthetic point of view.
