Immediate implant insertion using collagen-preserved bone granules and Flex Cortical Sheet

Today, we present the use of the Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) technique in a clinical case performed by Dr. Matteo Coppe (Treviso, Italy). The case involves a 62-year-old patient with a root fracture that made element 12 unrecoverable.

The procedure included the extraction of the residual root and followed by the elevation of a small flap and the insertion of a 3.5 x 15 mm implant.

A 0.5-mm-thick flexible cortical sheet (Osteoxenon® Flex Cortical Sheet, OSP-OX09) was placed vestibularly to the residual cortical bone, and the gap formed between it and the implant was filled with 0.25-1mm-size cortico-cancellous granules (Osteoxenon® Mix Granules).

The native collagen preserved within Osteoxenon® (type I collagen) enhances the natural bone remodeling process within the graft site, allowing even the most complex clinical cases to be addressed with the confidence of employing a material that promotes natural tissue regeneration.
