Derotation of the tibial tuberosity through dihedron wedges
Today we present retrospective clinical results from Dr. Pasquale Santoriello’s Team (Treviso, Italy) involving 118 patients with patellofemoral syndrome who underwent derotation of the tibial tuberosity.
Following osteotomy, a heterologous collagen-preserved bone graft with a special dihedral wedge shape (Osteoplant®, OSP-07A, Cancellous Dihedron) was used to impart derotation to the tibial tuberosity, restoring the correct alignment of the quadriceps tendon, patella and patellar tendon.
Osteoplant® is a bone graft made biocompatible through the Zymo-Teck® process, which through the use of specific enzymes allows for the removal of antigens and optimal preservation of the extracellular matrix without altering its structural characteristics.
The results obtained in the present study by means of the Crosby and Insall board showed that at 6 years of follow-up…
