Acetabular reconstruction using a flexible bone graft of equine origin
Today we show you a case report of a patient undergoing revision hip replacement who had a Paprowsky type III acetabular defect and that was published in the June issue of the Italian journal “Tabloid of Orthopaedics.”

The bone graft used is the acetabular mat (Osteoplant® Acetabular Mat – OSP-070), which is produced by the Zymo-Teck® enzymatic process to preserve collagen in its native form.
The acetabular mat undergoes an additional process of partial demineralization that makes it flexible after hydration in saline or imbibed with the patient’s blood. It also remodels with patient’s bone in physiological time.
