Restoration of peri-implant bone volumes using equine-derived bone paste and a collagenic Xenomatrix®
Today we present the clinical case of a patient who needed implant rehabilitation of elements 26-27.
The presence of sufficient bone to ensure the primary stability of the implants allowed immediate implant rehabilitation.
A cylinder of freeze-dried bone paste of equine origin (Bio-Gen® Putty), protected by a three-dimensional collagen matrix (Xenomatrix®) to promote soft tissue healing, was used to fill the residual space formed after vestibular root extraction of the elements.
Bio-gen® Putty is a bone graft with preserved collagen in hydrolyzed form and mineral component in native form. Its main characteristic is its ability to become mouldable once hydrated with saline or following imbibition with the patient’s blood.
This property makes it perfectly adaptable to the geometry of the defect.
Xenomatrix®, made from collagen extracted from equine-derived tendons, promotes blood clot stabilization and provides the optimal substrate for fibroblast adhesion and proliferation, promoting soft tissue regeneration.
Subsequent follow-up at 6 months showed excellent soft tissue healing, while endoral radiography at 9 months showed…
