Use of a slow-resorbing equine-derived bone substitute in horizontal GBR
Today’s clinical case, published in the international journal “Clinical Case Reports,” shows the use of slow-resorbing equine-derived granules (Calcitos® Cancellous granules, Bioteck Spa) in horizontal augmentation of a very thin (2 mm) residual ridge in combination with autologous bone and custom titanium grid.
Calcitos® is obtained by high-temperature treatment, aimed at removing all organic components while at the same time going to reduce the adhesion of osteoclasts in order to promote their slow resorption.
This feature ensures the maintenance of bone volume over time.
